The Grayson College basketball teams won both games against Weatherford College Saturday afternoon in Denison, 96-69 in the women’s matchup and 97-82 in the men’s game.

The loss snapped a five-game winning streak for the Lady Coyotes. Anna Jefferson-Polk was one of four WC players in double-figures with 17 points. GC shot 55.4 percent from the field, led by Manna Mensah’s 17 points.

The Lady Coyotes are 21-5 overall and 9-3 in conference play.

The Grayson men had two players with over 30 points apiece—D.J. Thomas with 33 and Jihad Watson with 22. D’Michael Bellfield led WC with 26 points and 12 rebounds. Weatherford was 3-of-23 from beyond the 3-point arc.

The Coyotes are 15-11 and 3-7.

Ranger College visits the Graber Athletic Center for two games Monday night. The Lady Coyotes tip off at 5 p.m. and the Coyotes face the No. 3-ranked Rangers at 7 p.m.
