The Weatherford College women's basketball team won a thriller, and the WC men lost by 7 at Hill College in Hillsboro Saturday afternoon.

Destiny McAfee's 31-point performance helped the Lady Coyotes hold off Hill for an 82-80 victory. Anna Jefferson-Polk and Diamond Sweats had 12 points each, and Adela Valkova pulled down 11 rebounds. WC is 17-4 overall and 5-2 in Northern Texas Junior College Athletic Conference play.

Hill won the men's game 77-70 despite 28 points from Weatherford's Jared Simmons. Hill had four players in double-figures and was 11-of-24 (45 percent) from three-point range. The Coyotes are 14-8 overall and 2-4 in conference play.

Both teams face McLennan Community College Wednesday night at the Betty Jo Graber Athletic Center. Game times are 5 p.m. for the women's game and 7 p.m. for the men.
