Women's golf teams from colleges across Texas, New Mexico, Arizona and Oklahoma are in Parker County competing in the NJCAA Southwest District Championship at Weatherford College's Canyon West Golf Club. 

Through two of the tournament's three rounds, Odessa College was in first place (602), leading second place New Mexico Junior College by 14 strokes (616). McLennan Community College was in third place at 621. 

The top individual was Ailsa Brannock of Odessa, shooting 73-72, 1-over par. Nanami Hayakawa of New Mexico JC had the best round of the tournament Tuesday with a 1-under 71.  

Weatherford College's top individual was Catherine Haas-Black at 82-80, tied for 24th out of 58 golfers. Grace Burland was 37th at 89-84.  

The teams will continue with the final round Wednesday. The top two teams and top two individuals will advance to the NJCAA National Tournament in Melbourne, Florida.
