Jud Kinzy joined the WC coaching staff in 2018. He serves as the program’s pitching coach and recruiting coordinator.
Kinzy has helped over 50 WC players move on to the NCAA Division I level since 2020. As pitching coach, he has helped develop and send over 25 pitchers to D-1 as well as four more to the Major League Baseball Draft.
His pitching staffs have been ranked in the national top 50 in ERA and strikeouts, breaking the school strikeout record in 2022 with 508. In 2023, the staff’s 3.70 ERA was fifth best in the nation.
A Denton Guyer High School graduate, Kinzy began his collegiate pitching career at Weatherford College where he helped lead the Coyotes to a regional tournament berth and a No. 1 NJCAA ranking in 2015. He played one year at the University of Houston and then transferred to the University of Texas at Arlington where he earned academic all-conference honors and contributed to a Sun Belt Conference championship in 2017.
Kinzy earned an associate degree from WC in 2015 and a Bachelor of Science degree from UTA in 2018.
Jud and his wife, Lindsey, attend Paradox Church in Fort Worth. They have a dog, Luca.
