Michael Stanford joined the WC coaching staff in 2023. Coach Stanford is the program’s outfield coach along with assistance in pitching, recruiting and the strength and conditioning program.
A Colleyville Heritage graduate, Stanford began his collegiate pitching career at Weatherford College. After three years at WC, he transferred to University of California-Irvine where he helped lead the Anteaters to a Big West Championship and a regional berth. During his senior year, Michael was an All-Big West Honorable Mention who dominated the year with a 7-2 record and a 3.06 ERA.
Stanford earned an associate degree from WC in 2020 and Bachelor of Arts in Sociology from UCI in 2023.
Michael is the son of David and Mary Beth Stanford of Ft. Worth, Texas. David played baseball at Mississippi State, McLennan, and Baylor University and both he and Mary Beth have been in the restaurant business a majority of Michael's life.
