WC announces NIL partnership for student-athletes

Weatherford College has announced a partnership with Opendorse to provide name, image and likeness (NIL) opportunities for its student-athletes. Opendorse is the exclusive NIL partner of the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA).

WC is now among the first 11 NJCAA institutions in the country and just the second in Texas to enter into such an agreement. Including NCAA and NAIA institutions, more than 100,000 athletes nationwide use Opendorse.

"Once again, the WC team is being aggressive and carving a new path forward," said WC President Tod Allen Farmer. "This NIL partnership will further support our student-athletes and help propel our programs to the next level."

The college and Opendorse have launched the Weatherford College Coyotes NIL Marketplace, a single platform giving Coyote fans and potential sponsors the ability to browse, book, pitch and pay WC student-athletes for NIL activities in one NJCAA-compliant platform. The marketplace can be found at opendorse.com/wc-coyotes. Through the new platform, student-athletes can give online shout-outs, endorse products and businesses, book appearances at local events and field other NIL offers from businesses and fans alike.

Opendorse's partnership with the NJCAA provides seamless compliance for athletes and the institution. The company also provides free virtual education sessions to WC student-athletes on marketing, financial literacy and other topics.
