Trent Sorey set an arena record in steer roping record at the Sul Ross State University Rodeo in Alpine this past weekend representing Weatherford College. 

His 11.5 time was good for first place in the second go. He finished the event in fifth place. 

Teammate Cash Fretwell placed second in the same event with a 14.9 on his first go, good for first place in the round. 

Lane Webb finished 10thin tiedown roping, Mitchie Story took fifth in saddle bronc riding and Brody Hasenack placed sixth in bull riding. 

In steer wrestling, Colton Green placed third overall with 11.2 on two head. 

Cayden Harmon and Bryson Tays (Cisco) came in eighth in team roping. 

Sophie Dunn placed third in breakaway roping with a time of 2.6 in the finals and 5.2 overall. Kadi Fretwell finished fourth with a total time of 5.4. 

Dunn also placed eighth in barrel racing with a 32.62 on two runs.
