The 2018-19 basketball season ended for the Weatherford College Lady Coyotes Wednesday with an 81-59 loss to No. 10 New Mexico Junior College at the Region V Women's Basketball Tournament in Abilene.

NMJC (25-4) forced 29 WC turnovers, including 18 in the first half. New Mexico shot 51 percent from the field; WC shot 41 percent.

Laci Hawthorne led the Lady Thunderbirds with 20 points and 8 rebounds.

Freshman Sarah Bush led the Lady Coyotes with 18 points. Destiny McAfee added 14 points and Anna Jefferson-Polk had 11.

WC finished the season with a 19-8 overall record.
