Volleyball enters postseason as No. 1 seed

The Weatherford College volleyball team is headed to the postseason for the very first time in their inaugural year of competition.

Not only did the Coyotes (20-7 overall, 12-2 in conference) qualify for the Region V-North Tournament, they are the No. 1 seed after winning the Northern Texas Junior College Athletic Conference regular season title.

The single-elimination tournament will be held Friday and Saturday, Nov. 4-5, at North Central Texas College in Gainesville. The Coyotes earned a first-round bye and will play Friday at 3 p.m. against the winner of a first-round match between the No. 4 and No. 5 seeds. The winner of the 3 p.m. match will play for the tournament title on Saturday at 1 p.m.

WC enters the tournament with a four-match winning streak and a stretch of winning 14 of their last 16. The Coyotes are averaging 13.2 kills per set, 12.2 assists per set and 17.1 digs.

All tournament matches will be live streamed on www.TSRNSports.com.
