Volleyball ends season in regional finals

              Weatherford College finished its inaugural volleyball season Saturday as Region V North Tournament finalists. WC defeated Temple College in the semifinal round Friday and lost to Hill College Saturday in the championship match in Gainesville.

              The Coyotes finished the season with a 21-8 overall record after winning the Northern Texas Junior College Athletic Conference championship with a 13-2 league record.         

              In the tournament semifinal Friday, Weatherford swept Temple 25-16, 25-18 and 25-11. Isabela Moore turned in 14 kills and 17 digs. Selanny Puente had 13 kills. Abby Folsom had 40 assists and six digs.

              In the title match Saturday, Hill won in three games, 25-22, 25-14 and 25-19. Meagan Ledbetter had 11 kills Saturday. Moore added eight kills and nine digs. Puente had seven kills on 14 attempts with zero errors. Folsom added 29 assists and Taylor Borden led the defensive effort with 11 digs.

              WC was 9-2 at home, 7-4 on the road and 5-2 at neutral sites this season.
