Coyote volleyball turns in 13th sweep
The Weatherford College volleyball team extended their winning streak to 11 with their 13th sweep of the season, defeating Vernon College on the road.
The No. 6 Weatherford College volleyball team swept Vernon College on the road Wednesday night, 25-9, 25-16, 25-12.
It was the 13th sweep of the year for the Coyotes and their 11th straight win.
The victory gave WC a three-game lead over second-place Vernon in the Northern Texas Junior College Athletic Conference standings. Weatherford improved to 22-5 overall and 9-0 in conference play. Vernon dropped to 13-11 and 6-3.
Weronika Urbanska turned in 14 kills for WC along with seven digs.
Lorena Gomez had 20 assists and six digs. Victoria Sanchez recorded 11 assists.
The Coyotes host Southwestern Christian College on Saturday, Oct. 19, at 1 p.m. in the Betty Jo Graber Athletic Center.
