Coyotes sweep Hill on the road

Austin Green hit three home runs and the Weatherford College baseball team swept Hill College in a conference doubleheader in Hillsboro Saturday, 10-4 and 13-3. 

Green was 2-for-3 in game one with two homers, a walk and three runs scored. Cal Stark was also 2-for-3 with two RBI. 

Kade Bragg earned the win, going five innings and allowing six hits and four earned runs while striking out seven Hill batters. 

In the second game, the Coyotes scored four runs each in the fifth, sixth and eighth innings. 

Robin Villanueve kept Hill's offense at bay, allowing just three hits and no earned runs while striking out eight over six innings. 

Kooper Shook and Layden White each went 3-for-5. 

WC improved to 21-10 overall and 6-6 in conference play, having won three of four in the Hill series. 

Next is a four-game series with McLennan Community College, ranked No. 4 in the latest NJCAA Division I national poll. The Coyotes will travel to Waco on Wednesday and then host the Highlanders Saturday, April 2, at Roger Williams Ballpark in a noon doubleheader.
