WC’s Rodriguez wins Pitcher of the Week Award

For the second straight week, a Weatherford College baseball player has won the Pitcher of the Week Award in the Northern Texas Junior College Athletic Conference. 

Ryne Rodriguez won the award for Jan. 29 to Feb. 4. The lefthander from Fort Worth struck out six and allowed just one hit in three and two-thirds innings of work at Blinn College. He then struck out five and allowed three hits in five innings at Tyler Junior College. 

Rodriguez is a 6-foot-2-inch freshman and a Trinity Valley School graduate. 

WC's Robert Fortenberry was Pitcher of the Week for Jan. 22-28. 

The Coyotes are scheduled to face Lamar Community College in back-to-back doubleheaders: Friday, Feb. 10, and Saturday, Feb. 11. Both doubleheaders begin at 1 p.m. at Roger Williams Ballpark. Weatherford is 4-2 overall.
