WC baseball ranked No. 3, softball No. 20

WC baseball ranked No. 3, softball No. 20

The Weatherford College baseball and softball teams are both ranked in the National Junior College Athletic Association's Division I preseason polls released Monday. 

The Coyote baseball team is ranked No. 3 in the nation. Coming off their first NJCAA World Series appearance and a conference championship, WC returns multiple starters and key contributors from last year's 53-11 team. 

WC's softball team is ranked No. 20. Weatherford advanced to the regional semifinals for the third consecutive season in 2023 and finished with a 39-16 overall record. 

Baseball season begins on Saturday, Jan. 27, at Roger Williams Ballpark as the Coyotes face Northeast Texas Community College in a 1 p.m. doubleheader. The softball team begins on Saturday, Feb. 2, in a 1 p.m. doubleheader against Paris Junior College at Stuart Field.
