Coyotes finish sweep, Crossland no-hits NCTC

The Weatherford College baseball team is 8-0 in conference play after back-to-back four game sweeps. WC beat North Central Texas College 11-2 and 10-0 on Saturday in Gainesville. 

The No. 7 ranked Coyotes (26-6) used a nine-run eighth inning to break open game one. Uriah Walters went 3-for-3 in the game, Kasen Wells had two RBI with two walks and Dayton Tockey was 2-for-4 with two RBI. 

Evan Brandt got the start and earned the win with four hits, two runs, two walks and five strikeouts over 5 and two thirds. 

In the second game, Cade Crossland delivered a no-hitter for the Coyotes. The freshman from Rockwall struck out 10 batters and allowed just two walks and no runs over five innings.  

Luka Daoust turned in three RBI and went 2-for-4. Walters walked four times and scored once. Wells had two RBI. 

WC will start a four-game series against Temple College on Wednesday in Temple, returning to Roger Williams Ballpark at WC on Friday, March 29, in a noon doubleheader.
