Coyotes on 10-game win streak after two at Temple

The Weatherford College Coyote baseball team is 10-0 in conference play after two wins at Temple College on Wednesday, 5-4 and 8-3. 

Weatherford improved to 28-6 overall; Temple dropped to 19-14. 

In game one, the Coyotes jumped out to a 5-0 lead and held on as Temple nearly closed the gap with a four-run fourth inning. 

WC's Uriah Walters went 2-for-3 with an RBI and a walk. Miguel Luevano walked three times and scored a run. 

Robert Fortenberry earned the win on the mound, allowing just three hits and two runs while walking three and striking out four batters over four and a third.  

In game two, Luevano was 3-for-3 with an RBI and two runs scored. Luka Daoust went 3-for-5 with two RBI. 

Cody Morse scattered three hits over six innings with two runs, four walks and six strikeouts. Reliever Charlie Giese earned the win with one hit, no runs, two walks and three strikeouts over three innings. 

The Coyotes and Leopards face off again on Friday, March 29, at Roger Williams Ballpark. The doubleheader begins at noon.
