WC splits doubleheader, wins series vs. Temple

Weatherford College and Temple College split a baseball doubleheader at Roger Williams Ballpark on Friday. 

Temple won the first game 3-1, snapping a 10-game WC winning streak. TC's Garrett Baumann pitched all seven innings, allowing six hits and no earned runs while striking out six. 

Weatherford's Luka Daoust was 2-for-3. 

WC won game two 9-2. The Coyotes jumped out to a 7-0 lead by the bottom of the second inning.  

Trace Mazon was 3-for-5 with two doubles and three RBI. Dayton Tockey was 2-for-5 with a triple and an RBI. 

Cade Crossland was sharp on the mound, striking out 12 batters while only allowing two hits, four walks and one earned run over six innings. 

After three four-game series, WC is 11-1 in Northern Texas Junior College Athletic Conference play. WC is 29-7 overall.  

Next, the Coyotes face Cisco College, at Cisco on Wednesday and at Roger Williams Ballpark on Saturday. The Saturday doubleheader is scheduled to start at noon.
