Coyotes host Mental Health Awareness Day

Coyotes host Mental Health Awareness Day

Saturday, April 13, is "Mental Health Awareness Day" at Weatherford College's Roger Williams Ballpark. The baseball doubleheader against Grayson College will begin at noon.

The first 100 fans will receive a free WC/JR98 T-shirt, and all gate proceeds and donations will go to the JR98 Inc. Foundation.

JR98 Inc. is a private non-profit organization dedicated to promoting mental health and suicide prevention through education and community service. WC assistant baseball coach Carlos Ramirez and his wife, Toni, established the foundation after they lost their son, Jean, to suicide in 2022 at the age of 28. Jean played baseball at Grayson College and Illinois State University before being drafted by the Tampa Bay Rays. 98 was his jersey number.
