Coyotes fall short in nail-biter

Coyotes fall short in nail-biter

A Coyote three-pointer that would have tied the game rimmed out at the buzzer, and the Grayson College men's basketball team escaped the Graber Athletic Center with a 77-74 win over Weatherford College on Wednesday night.

It was just the second time WC has lost at home this season. The Coyotes are 10-2 at the Graber Center this year.

WC's Wayne Wiggins poured in 23 points and added five steals. Tyson Whybrew scored 11 points, and Marcus-Myen King-Danchie had 10.

Weatherford fell to 18-8 overall and 6-4 in conference play. Grayson improved to 13-14 overall and 6-5 in league play.

In the women's game, the Lady Coyotes lost to Grayson 99-75 despite an impressive 25 points and 21 rebounds from Janavia Gage.

Jacque Giron had 16 points. Trinitee Johnson added 14 and Selina Gutierrez had 10.

Both WC teams travel to Ranger College on Saturday. The games will be livestreamed on tsbnsports.com.
