Chris Flanagan joined the WC coaching staff in the fall of 2011 as an assistant baseball coach. He was named assistant softball coach in 2013.
The Buna, Texas native pitched for Lamar University from 1997 to 2001. He then spent the next five years playing in professional independent leagues, including stints in Sioux City, Iowa in the Northern League; Chillicothe, Ohio in the Frontier League; and in the Central League with San Angelo and El Paso. He served as an associate scout for the Cincinnati Reds for eight years.
He earned a bachelor's degree in Applied Arts and Sciences in 2001 and a master's degree in Education in 2010, both from Lamar. He is married to the former Casey Morgan, and the couple has four children, Cayden, Carter, Cori and Camryn.
