Coyote volleyball sweeps Player of the Week honors

Weatherford College volleyball once again swept the Northern Texas Junior College Athletic Conference's volleyball Players of the Week, with Abby Benitez and Peighton Serda earning the titles.  

A 5-foot, 10-inch sophomore outside hitter from Saginaw, Serda was the NTJCAC Offensive Player of the Week. She helped the Coyotes go 3-0 last week in nine undefeated sets. She contributed 25 kills on only 62 swings and hit .306 over those nine sets. Serda also averaged 2.8 points per set and had three digs and a block assist.  

A 5-foot sophomore libero from Snyder, Benitez led the defensive effort for the Coyotes, as Weatherford went 3-0 in nine undefeated sets. She averaged 3.4 digs per set and 2.4 assists per set, with a career-high 12 assists against NCTC. Benitez also chipped in an ace and had only two receive errors on 45 balls. Overall, she had 22 assists and 31 digs.
