It was a battle, but the Weatherford College volleyball team overcame a first set loss to beat Hill College on Wednesday night in the Betty Jo Graber Athletic Center. 

Hill took the first set 25-23. The Coyotes were down in the second set but rallied to win 25-22 and then won the final two sets 25-22 and 25-18. 

Brooke McHale led the way for WC with 15 kills and two assists along with 14 digs. Meagan Ledbetter tallied 10 kills and 11 digs. 

Lorena Gomez registered 21 assists and nine digs. Abby Folsom had 17 assists. Abby Benitez finished with 14 digs. 

The Coyotes, ranked No. 12 in the nation, improved to 25-3 overall and 10-1 in conference play. Hill dropped to 13-17 and 6-5. 

After a Friday road trip to Tyler Junior College, WC will return home to face Ranger College on Saturday, Oct. 21, at 1 p.m.
