WC volleyball ends regular season at 29-3; regionals next

A regular season dominated by the Weatherford College volleyball team came to a close Saturday with a sweep of Cisco College. The Coyotes won 25-12, 25-8, 25-19 at the Betty Jo Graber Athletic Center. 

It was Weatherford's eighth win in a row and its 18th sweep of the season. 

Meagan Ledbetter registered 13 kills and eight digs. Selanny Puente had 10 kills. Abby Folsom turned in 23 assists and eight digs, while Abby Benitez led the defense with 14 digs. 

WC finished the regular season with a 29-3 overall record; 13-1 in the Northern Texas Junior College Athletic Conference. WC had previously clinched its second straight conference title. 

Weatherford will be the NTJCAC No. 1 seed in the Region V Tournament at the Graber Athletic Center Thursday through Saturday, Nov. 2-4. The Coyotes are scheduled to play their first round match at 1 p.m. Thursday. 

Prior to their first match, the community is invited to enjoy a free lunch and meet the team at WC's First Serve event starting at 11:30 a.m. in the Mince parking lot near the gym.
