Cheer Tryouts

 

Date & Time:

April 24 & 25, 2024 / 5-8:30 p.m.

Location: Betty Jo Graber Athletic Center


Requirements for Tryouts:

•  Jumps: Toe Touch, Pike, Hurdler, and Herkie

•  Cheer: Taught by WC Cheer Team members

•  Chant: Taught by WC Cheer Team members

•  Dance/Pom Routine: Taught by WC Cheer Team members

•  Tumbling preferred [not required]

•  Have cheer stunting and pyramid building experience

•  Must provide proof of medical health insurance

•  Must provide proof of an athletic physical exam (must be within 6 months to 1 year prior to tryouts)


Attire:

• Females: Sports bra or other crop tops (black only). Bottoms must be cheer shorts and/or spandex, and all females MUST wear cheer shoes.

• Males: Black t-shirt and athletic shorts (any color). Cheer shoes are preferred, but not required.


WC Cheer team members receive scholarship funding, all members must:

•  Be enrolled in WC Cheer classes (Fall and Spring semesters) and attend regularly.

•  Be enrolled in a minimum of 12 semester hours and maintain a 2.0 GPA or better.

•  Attend and perform at all assigned WC Coyote and Lady Coyote Basketball games, as well as other required events and/or activities.
