The Weatherford College softball team opened conference play with a doubleheader sweep of Ranger College Wednesday at Stuart Field. Both games ended in the fifth inning due to the run rule. 

The Coyotes won game one 11-2. 

Darlene Montoya went 2-for-3 with a home run and three RBI. Carter Smith was 2-for-3 with an RBI. 

WC took game two 8-0. Teoni Lamb allowed just three hits and no runs while striking out four. Montoya went 2-for-3 with two RBI. 

Weatherford improved to 13-4 overall. 

Next, WC travels to Ranger on Saturday, March 4. The Coyotes return to Stuart Field on Wednesday, March 8, for a 1 p.m. doubleheader against Hill College.
