Coyote softball completes four-game sweep of Ranger

The Weatherford College softball team moved to 4-0 in conference play after sweeping Ranger College again Saturday in a road doubleheader. 

As of Saturday, the Coyotes were 17-4 overall and had won eight in a row. 

WC took game one 11-3. Lilly Bean hit two home runs and finished with four RBI. Jacinta Fonoti also hit a homer and added three RBI. 

Amelia Hatthorn earned the win, giving up three hits and two runs over four innings while striking out four batters. Carter Smith added to her Region V-leading stolen base total with three more in the first game. 

In game two, WC won 16-0. 

Teoni Lamb logged a no-hitter, going five innings with only one walk and nine Ks. 

Darlene Montoya was 2-for-2 with four runs scored, two RBI, two walks and three stolen bases. Lencia Powell went 3-for-4 with one run and one RBI. 

Next, WC faces Hill College in a four-game series that begins on Wednesday, March 8, in a 1 p.m. doubleheader at Stuart Field.
