The No. 20 Weatherford College softball team dominated Vernon College in a doubleheader at Stuart Field Wednesday, 12-2 and 10-1. Both games ended early due to the run rule. 

WC broke game one open in the bottom of the fourth inning with a six-run outburst, followed by five more runs in the fifth. 

Annabelle Guay was 2-for-3 with a home run and four RBI. Lilly Bean had three RBI, one hit and two walks. 

Averie Gunther scattered eight hits over five innings, allowed one earned run and struck out six. 

In game two, the Coyotes exploded with eight runs in the fourth. 

Amelia Hatthorn struck out five while allowing four hits and one run in four innings. Guay went 2-for-2 with a home run. Gunther was 2-for-3. Jacinta Fonoti hit a home run. 

The Coyotes improved to 26-7 overall and 11-3 in conference play. WC will head to Vernon on Saturday and return to Stuart Field on Wednesday, April 5 to face North Central Texas College in a 1 p.m. doubleheader.
