WC baseball moves up to No. 12, softball to No. 14

Weatherford College continues to move up the national baseball and softball rankings. 

The National Junior College Athletic Association released its Division I rankings Monday. The WC baseball team moved up four spots to No. 12, and the softball team improved three notches to No. 14 in the nation. 

The baseball team was 31-8 overall and 14-2 in conference play as of Monday, leading the Northern Texas Junior College Athletic Conference by four games. The Coyotes were hitting .309 as a team and had the third-best ERA in the nation at 2.85. 

The WC softball team was 31-8 overall and 16-4 in conference, tied for second place behind No. 2-ranked Grayson. Weatherford was hitting .356 as a team with a .584 slugging percentage. 

Baseball faces Temple College at Roger Williams Ballpark on Wednesday, April 12, in a 1 p.m. doubleheader, while softball hosts Temple on Saturday, April 15, in a noon doubleheader at Stuart Field.
