Weatherford College handed the No. 6-ranked Temple College softball team a 3-2 loss in the first game of a doubleheader Friday in Temple. 

The score was 2-2 in the top of the fifth inning when a Texas Ray RBI broke the tie for the Coyotes.   

Caydin Blackmon earned the win in relief, allowing no runs and just one hit in three innings while striking out four. 

Temple won the second game, 15-4. The Leopards scored nine runs in the first inning and four in the second. 

Jillian Franco hit a three-run home run for WC in the top of the first inning.  

WC is 17-17 overall and 5-11 in conference play. Next, WC will play a four-game series against Cisco College: Wednesday at Stuart Field in a 1 p.m. doubleheader and Saturday in Cisco.
