Softball upsets No. 10 Grayson

              The Weatherford College softball team beat Grayson College, ranked No. 10 in the nation, in both games of a doubleheader at Stuart Field Thursday, 2-1 and 6-3.

              Pitcher Lindsey Oliver was sharp in game one for Weatherford, striking out nine batters while allowing six hits, one run and one walk. Grayson was held scoreless after putting up their only run in the top of the first inning.

              Abigail Holder went 2-for-2 with a walk and a run.  

              In game two, WC scored all six of its runs in the bottom of the sixth inning, spurred on by RBI doubles from Presley Humphrey, Lilly Bean and Sadie Reid.

              Caydin Blackmon scattered eight hits over seven innings with three earned runs, one walk and two strikeouts.

              WC improved to 22-18 overall and 10-12 in conference play. Grayson dropped to 27-12 and 13-8.

              Weatherford will travel to Grayson Saturday.
